color correction details
Why do I need Color Correction?
Over time, film suffers from the effects of light and dark fading. UV Light is very damaging to slides and negatives, left in the direct sun, the color in film can completely fade in as little as a few months. Even in the dark, film is still not safe. Temperature and humidity are damaging as well and typically cause the film to turn blue. That being said, it is still best to store your slides and negatives in the darkest, driest, coldest condition you can find.
Automatic Color Correction
We offer two types of color correction (Automatic & Manual). With our automatic color correction we use software to analyse your images and automatically adjust the colors and contrast. They are very fast and do a good job at removing color casts and balancing colors in most photos.
Manual Color Correction
While automatic color correction does a good job overall it can be unpredictable. It is also limited in what adjustments it is capable of. With our Manual Color correction a skilled technician looks at each image to determine what corrections need to be made, then makes those adjustments using their skilled eye, making sure you have the most accurate photo possible.

These following before and after images will give you an idea as to what to expect with our color correction options.
